Newborn Session FAQ
Where do the newborn sessions take place?
Sessions can take place in our Pearland Studio or the convenience of your home. Our photographers bring the studio to you, all in the comfort and cleanliness of your own home so you don’t have to take your newborn to an outside location. |
What do you bring to the session? Do I need to provide anything?
We brings the entire newborn studio to your home! We bring all the props for your baby – including lighting, heating, outfits, hats, headbands, bowties, wraps, blankets, buckets, background). If you have a specific outfit and/or keepsake that you want to include in the session, we will absolutely do our best to include it as well. |
We schedule sessions 7 days a week. Since sessions take approximately 1 to 3.5 hours. Sessions could run longer depending on baby. We strongly suggest you do not schedule any other appointments for the day of your session. |
What days can I schedule my session?
We schedule sessions 7 days a week. Since sessions take approximately 1 to 3 hours, we only schedule two appointments a day. |
How far in advance of my due date should I book a session?
It’s never too early to book a session. But we absolutely try our best to accommodate every baby, even for last minute sessions after baby has arrived. |
When is the best time to have my session?
The ideal time to photograph your newborn is between 5 and 14 days old. We can still photograph babies up to one month old, however it does become less likely we can capture all the poses you see in our gallery since the baby will be more alert and active. Preemies can typically be photographed a bit older than a full term baby. If you are unsure whether it’s too late to photograph your newborn, please send an inquiry on our contact link and we will get in touch. For boys, it is preferred to schedule the session before a circumcision or at least 48 hours after circumcision since babies may be irritable from the procedure. |
My baby has already arrived. Can I still schedule a session?
In most cases, we are able to still schedule your newborn session as long as your baby is still within the successful timeframe for a newborn session and we have availability. |
Do you photograph twins and triplets?
Yes, we do photograph twins and triplets, and bring extra props to accommodate the babies. Our twin and triplet sessions capture images of each twin individually and together. |
You can contact the studio or schedule online. We will reach out by next business day a phone consultation. |
Do you take sibling and/or family photos with baby?
Our expertise is capturing studio-quality images of your newborn. A few sibling and/or parent pictures can be photographed as well. The photography will bring a studio background. There are options to have casual lifestyle images taken in one location in your home (e.g. your bed, couch, nursery, or wall as a background). |
Who will photograph my session?
A photography from our Pearland studio. A few days prior to your session, your scheduled photographer will call and introduce herself and answer any final pre-session questions. |
What type of retouching do you perform on the session images?
We lightly retouch your baby’s images, primarily removing any scratches, red spots, bruising or blotchiness from the delivery while maintaining your baby’s character and natural beauty. If you have a special editing request for your baby, please inform your photographer so we can do our best to take care of it in our final editing. |
Do you offer the option to order prints of our final images?
We provide affordable and professional quality prints, albums and canvases that can be ordered directly from your final gallery. This is completely optional since you own the digital files, but we do urge you to use a professional lab when you print your photos. You invested in a professional newborn session, and you will want any images you print to also represent the high quality portraits you have captured. |
